The oils are moisturizing, nourishing and protective, a great alternative to conventional cosmetics. Choose the best one for you in every situation.
All vegetable oils are a wonderful alternative to conventional cosmetics. They are easy to find and meet the needs of each skin type, making them more personalized and cheaper than many cosmetic products on the market.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR BODY OIL
To take full advantage of their benefits on your skin, whether for massages or to hydrate dry parts of your body, it is convenient that they are pure, cold-pressed and ecological, in addition to not having additions of other substances or mineral oils that deteriorate their quality.
Some can be refined to improve their color and smell, as is the case with shea butter, but this process does not detract from properties for the skin. To keep them for a couple of months beyond their expiration date, store them in a dry, dark and cool place.
1. IDEAL OILS FOR MASSAGES
There are body oils that, due to their chemical composition, have a dry touch, that is, they are easily absorbed without leaving a greasy sensation on the skin.
The safflower, grapeseed, macadamia or hazelnuts are preferred by the masseurs, and also to develop creams intended for oily skin.
2. OILY TOUCH OILS
Among those with a greasy touch we find avocado, coconut, wheat germ, sweet almond and evening primrose oils.
These oils are preferred to make protective and repairing balms and butters, especially to improve the hydration of dry skin and help regenerate damaged skin.
3. PROTECTIVE AND NOURISHING OILS
The shortenings and oils, shea, kokum, mango or cocoa provide great protection and nutrition.
4. OILS FOR MATURE SKIN AND WITH STRETCH MARKS
The oils of rosehip, blueberries and hemp are rich in antioxidants, ideal for treating mature skin and stretch marks.
THE BEST BODY OILS FOR SKIN AND HAIR
Depending on your skin type, I recommend you try the following oils:
OLIVE OIL
It is one of the best oils, because it is in all homes and because of its benefits as a balm, toning, moisturizing and repairing of the skin, cuticles and hair.
It gains cosmetic value when medicinal plants such as marigold or St. John’s wort are macerated in it.
AVOCADO OIL
It is a fatty oil rich touch in vitamins A, D and E. Reduces and delays the appearance of fine lines.
Regenerates the tissues and improves the elastic properties of the skin. Its high content of unsaponifiable, minerals, vitamins and beta-carotene make it ideal for mature, dry and dehydrated skin.
It is also suitable for the treatment of psoriasis, dermatitis, scars and eczema.
SESAME OIL
Dry to the touch, it is ideal for massages and oily and combination skin.
Its composition in unsaponifiable antioxidants improves the level of cutaneous sebum secretion and combats the desquamation of dehydrated skin. It favors a natural tan and, being an antioxidant, prevents the generation of stretch marks.
In addition, it improves hair growth and protects it in high temperature treatments.
GRAPESEED OIL
Another oil with a dry touch, also appreciated for its nutritional value. It is suitable for all skin types, including damaged and battered ones. It prevents skin aging and rebalances the loss and absorption of skin moisture.
In addition, it conditions the hair, stimulates collagen and elastin fibers, nourishes the hair fiber and regenerates the cells that make up the hair and eyelashes.
KOKUM BUTTER
Also called mangosteen butter, it is a prized cosmetic ingredient for its countless benefits for skin and hair.
Nourishing and protective, it restores dry and tired skin, leaving it soft and velvety. It can be used to hydrate dry and normal skin as it does not leave a greasy feeling.
It also helps fight wrinkles and stretch marks. And it is used in lip balms, protectants and exfoliants for the face and body.
